Road surface work on Vimy set to begin first thing Wednesday morning
Plans for grind and pave to be completed this weekend
Contractors for the city's "grind and pave" project on Vimy Avenue are scheduled to begin working well before sunrise, Wednesday morning.
According to a release issed by the city Tuesday, workers will begin grinding at 4:30 a.m.
They’ll stop for a period beginning at 8 a.m. to allow for increased traffic during morning commute and school bus routes.
They will then resume grinding at 9:30 a.m. until complete at approximately 3:30 p.m.
"The equipment is in place and available now to get this work done quickly, with plans to have Vimy Avenue paved this weekend," the city stated in its release.
"We are making every effort to cause minimal disruption to this detour route and are asking motorists to proceed north and use Jubilee Avenue to Theriault Boulevard to access Algonquin Boulevard while contractors are working."
